When I try to delete a style from my Master Stylesheet, I will sometimes get this error message:
The style <style_name> cannot be removed since it is inherited and not defined in this stylesheet.
What does this mean? When I open the stylesheet in a text editor, I can find the style and delete it without difficulty.
Thanks.

You might have been in the print medium view and tried deleting it there, but it exists in the default medium so you have to delete it from there. And I can't remember, but you also might get the message if you try to delete one of the main styles, like h1, h2, p, etc.

Re: Unable to delete a style
Switching to "Medium:Print" did the trick. I forgot I created that style only for print purposes. Failing to notice the medium in effect trips me up constantly....
Thanks.

Re: Unable to delete a style
I find if I have problems such as you've described it pays to open the styleheet with a text editor.
You do not hjave to make changes within the editor if you are not comfortable with CSS, but you can see haow the styles are applied. Once you've worked out how you've applied the style you can return to Flare's style sheet editor to make the changes.
The main advantage to this is the actual stylesheet only shows styles you have set explicitly, while the stylesheet editor (in advanced view) shows all the possible attributes you can set. I find the stylesheet editor (simple view) a bit clunky and don't use it...
