General Question

Before ordering the feedback server i asked our system admin if we had the requirements. He agreed but asked me if the server has to communicate with the internet or if its enough to communicate in our intranet. Our documentation should be seen anywhere in the internet.

To specifiy my question: is it server-server communication? so would it be enough to install the server into an intern VM and just open the necessary ports?

Also: when was v.3 published? is there are new version coming soon?
