Windows Server 2008 R2

Post by MinnesotaCory »

Has anyone run Flare on Windows Server 2008 R2?
We plan to move our Authoring to a remote access machine as part of our disaster recovery plan and I can't find any reference to anyone attempting something like this. Are there any pitfalls I can expect from using Flare on a remote machine through a remote desktop connection?
Thanks,
CK

I have remoted into Flare running on a Vista box with no problem, so I'd expect you should be fine with Server 2008.

Haven't tried it with Server 2008R2 (which is not the same as Server 2008!), but it runs on W7 without any significant issues. As long as the user rights are set properly it should be fine.
But why not use an ESX server with real-time mirroring of the SAN to the DR location? That is what we do and that allows for running the apps on any OS desired.
