TFS & Templates: Are templates stored in TFS?

Does TFS hold copies of Flare templates? It doesn't seem to be keeping mine as I'm not having to check them in and out or when I go to modify them. I did a search on here for +tfs +template, but all I came up with was one SharePoint post.

No, templates aren't stored in TFS, only the project files.

Your templates are just stored wherever you keep them; i.e. the folders you've set in Tools > Manage templates.

Thanks, Dave. I was wondering for backup purposes, but just put a copy in my shared folder on the network. I'm also wondering though how to share them with new technical writers as I've always been the lone writer (even in previous jobs) and they are hiring two more. I think the first one starts in two weeks actually.

If you all need to access the same templates, then they'd have to kept in a network folder; and you'd set up a link to the folder using Manage templates.

Thanks, I'm still new to Flare and hadn't thought about, or realized, I could do that. I was thinking I'd have to keep them in my share drive and then have to remember to update them there if anything changed since I have edited them a couple of times since creating them.
