Clearing History for Popup windows on close

We found an issue, and wanted to know if anyone has an idea of how to fix it.

When using a hyperlink with a target of "_Popup", the output correctly opens in a popup window. However, if there is a hyperlink in the target file, following that hyperlink then closing the popup window will, upon clicking the link, open the last visited page in that popup sequence.

Is there a way to catch the closure of the popup window and clear its history, or do I need to go through all of our (potential) popup topics and change the target in all of the hyperlinks to _Top?

I've seen this behavior, as well, and wondered if there was a way to clear the history. It's a rare occurrence in our case to have links with a target of 'self' within popup topic content (which create a history for the popup), but they exist in a few cases. So, while it's not a really big issue for us, it would still be nice to know if anyone has some know-how regarding clearing of the history. Anyone?
