Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can we have user definable keystroke commands for applying styles? I have this in Word, and in Frame with Rick Quatro's ShortcutKeys addin. It is driving me up the wall having to apply styles from a list. It slows me down by an order of magnitude. And my wrist is getting sore from all the extra mousing I have to do.

ksoltys,
I do not know if this is what you are looking for, but the Madcap Help has a list of shortcuts.

Re: Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
Thanks, that document is helpful, and I'd completely missed it.
However, I'd still like to be able to apply specific styles with a keystroke command. For example, in Word and Frame I use a lof CTRL+ALT commands for this purpose. CTRL+ALT+B applys BodyText, CTRL+ALT+2 applies Heading2, and so on.
This is much faster than selecting from a list, and in any document you can apply 90 percent of the styles with 10 or 12 commands.

Keith

Definitely a great idea. If you haven't already, you can submit a bug report or feature request here:

Re: Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
While it's not as fast as what you proposed, I usually use Ctrl-Shift-H to open the style picker, and then type the first few letters of the class I want (or, sometimes, arrow through). No mouse involved.

Re: Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
Anyone know whether this enhancement request has been addressed? I have some teammembers who would like to assign keystrokes to styles also.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Keystroke shortcuts for applying styles
no.
It's still CTRL+SHIFT+h or F12 and then pick the class you want ... - if Flare offers the one you want, that is - but that's another story.
