In PDF output, is there any way to include a heading level in the mini-TOCs but exclude (or hide) it in the main TOC? The reason I ask is that I would like to create a document with an abbreviated main TOC (containing one or two heading levels) and detailed TOCs at the beginning of each chapter (containing all heading levels within the chapter).
Thank you.

Re: Including headings in mini-TOCs but not in the main TOC
My initial thought was that you could play around with the target>printed output setting "Use TOC Depth for Heading Levels". But, it appears this setting applies to both the TOC proxy and mini-TOCs, you cannot set them separately for both.
Another option (untested) might be to set the relevant styles for the glossary proxy to Display:None. For example, try that for p.TOC3, p.TOC4 etc and see what happens.
Cheers

Thanks Greg.
I tried setting the p.TOCx tags to "display: none" in the CSS, but they continued to appear in the main TOC.

If you don't want a heading style (h1 to h6) to appear in the generated TOC, then you set its mc-heading-level to 0.

Re: Including headings in mini-TOCs but not in the main TOC
After some tinkering, I found a way to remove heading levels from the main TOC while keeping them in the chapter-level mini TOCs. I added the following CSS code to the MadCapBlaze.css file (under %Program Files%\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V5\Flare.app\Resources\BlazeTargetCompiler):
Where # is the desired heading level.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Code: Select all
table.GenTOCTable#
{
display: none;
