Flare 5.0.1 update

Hi there,

I've just run Flare and been invited to update to 5.0.1. First of all, some praise for Madcap - awesome user experience, as the popup tells me the patch addresses an issue I had, and I was told about it automatically, and could seamlessly download from there. great!

My issue is that the download location is "http://madcap.vo.llnwd.net/o1/flare050- ... V5_SP1.exe" and as a result i'm a little nervous of running the .exe, because llnwd.net looks anything but official.

Can anyone official-ish please confirm that this is the correct download?

llwnd.net is the hosting provider of MadCap. When you go to http://www.llnwd.net/ you can read more about them. All the MadCap downloads came from that place since I can remember.

Actually that link doesn't work for me - and there's nothing in the kb for 5.01 where you have the other release notes.

Hmmm, works just fine for me and there I find a table of items plainly labeled Flare 5.0.1. Some time warp, perhaps?

Try the search (bottom left of the browser window) ... search for "5.0.1" ... voilà!

Something is definitely warped - that link doesn't work on my work PC (in any browser, with caches cleared), but it does on my home PC.
Older CSH links work fine, but not that one.

Last time the kb WebHelp didn't work at all for about 4 months, all I could see were blank white panes.
