Hi again,
Is it possible to implement custom buttons in the WebHelp toolbar?
Rather than Back, Forward, Search, etc. I'd like to place custom buttons that open new windows to various support sites, such as our forum, and KB site.
I imagine it might be easier to create a snippet for the topic toolbar, but the design team has these links in the toolbar where the default MadCap logo is.
If possible, how might I go about doing this?
Thanks,
Glenn

Re: Custom buttons in WebHelp Toolbar?
You can create your own buttons, and then on the Onclick action you can have it run a java script that you create that will direct you to what ever website you want.

Thanks Rick,
Yes, I found the OnClick field and tried pasting in java script. It didn't work and caused the About functionality to stop working.
There's nothing in the Help file about how to use the OnClick feature. Can you provide me with an example of java script that will work?
Thanks,
Glenn

Something like:
... to open in a new window.
Or to open a page in the topic body frame:
Code: Select all
window.open ("http://www.madcapsoftware.com");Or to open a page in the topic body frame:
Code: Select all
parent.body.location.href("http://www.madcapsoftware.com");Re: Custom buttons in WebHelp Toolbar?
