Invalid character error during Framemaker import

I started importing files from Frame 8 to Flare 5.0.1 and recieved the error "hexadecimal value 0x15 is an invalid character". Any suggestions?

I was getting this error in 5.0.0, because I had a non-breaking space in my FrameMaker cross-reference formats. I thought that this had been fixed in 5.0.1.

After spending a morning deleting paragraphs until the error went away, I found it seems to be a non-breaking space in an index marker.
