WebHelp created in Flare 5 will not open in IE 6. There are no errors, but the calling application freezes. According to the knowledge base, WebHelp is supported in IE 5.5 or later. Does anyone know if this has changed? There are no problems opening WebHelp in IE 7 and 8, plus many versions of FF.
In troubleshooting this, I used Fiddler to capture the HTTP traffic when our WebHelp is opened. The first thing I noticed were many calls to Alias.xml, even though we don't use CHS and there is no Alias file in the Project > Advanced folder. I know that the WebHelp target defaults to using the default Alias file, and as far as I can tell, there is no way to tell it not to look for an Alias file. I don't think the calls to the missing Alias file are the problem for this particular customer, but I'd like to fix it if I can to make the WebHelp output as clean as possible. Does anyone know of a way to create WebHelp output so that it doesn't look for Alias.xml at all?
Thanks.

Did you try the sample project and see if renders ok?
