Navigating back to an open dropdown
Navigating back to an open dropdown
I know it's been discussed before, but I can't find it: open a dropdown and click a link in the dropdown that takes you to another topic. When you go back to the original topic, the dropdown is closed, of course. Is there a way to keep it open?
Re: Navigating back to an open dropdown
First thought: Only with a bit of effort, but that would be only once ...
I just wrote a javascript that on loading the topic transforms specific links into doing very specific things - that could turn out very similar to what you want to do.
If you know your way around javascript (or know sb who does), here's the idea:
That should help ...

Code: Select all
- run though all links of the document:
- find those that have a dropdown body as father element:
- enter an anchor in front of or behind the found link (=> the anchor is inside the dropdown body)
- write into the found link:
- a location.replace with the document.url extended by the anchor (topic.htm#anchorname)
- a location.href to the actually intended target topicRe: Navigating back to an open dropdown
Thanks for sharing your expertise. I certainly don't know my way around javascript, but you've given me something I can take to someone who does.
By the way, in case I'm asked, where, exactly, is the script supposed to go?
Thanks, again.

I inserted it into the head of the master page. If you don't use a master page, you could also insert it into the head of the templates.dwag wrote:By the way, in case I'm asked, where, exactly, is the script supposed to go?
