TOC expanded when built directly to PDF
TOC expanded when built directly to PDF
I might have missed the post on how to fix this, but my PDF TOC is expanded when generating directly to PDF. I do not want the TOC expanded on opeing the PDF, and I need to find a way for the TOC to be collapsed when the PDF opens.
Re: TOC expanded when built directly to PDF
Are you talking about the bookmarks pane? If so, in the PDF target, somewhere there is an Advanced or Options button that you can click and set some parameters, such as showing the page only and not the bookmarks pane when the PDF is opened.

Re: TOC expanded when built directly to PDF
No, the TOC in the PDF should be closed when the PDF is open. By Default, my TOC is open (see screen shot 1). I need to get the TOC closed without having to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, close the TOC, and then save the file (See screen shot 2). There is no opton in the PDF Target to select to have the TOC closed when the PDF is opened.LTinker68 wrote:Are you talking about the bookmarks pane? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: TOC expanded when built directly to PDF
If it's not an option in the target settings then I don't think it's currently possible. I had a hard time finding out how to collapse the TOC from within Acrobat as it was. So in the meantime you'd have to open the output, manually collapse the TOC, then resave it (assuming it saves the state of TOC). In the long term, submit a feature request at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.

Opening it in Acrobat Pro, collapsing the TOC, and re-saving it works. However, this should be standard from Flare. As for submitting a "Feature Request," I had my fill of that two years ago (I'll keep my comments to myself). Unless there are a lot of people reporting a specific bug, or requesting a certain feature, Madcap doesn't bother.LTinker68 wrote:If it's not an option in the target settings then I don't think it's currently possible. Thanks for looking into this though!
