Preview of hyperlinks has no styles applied

I have an odd problem

I have a topic with hyperlinks to other points in the same topic. They work correctly however, when I preview the topic and then click one of the hyperlinks, the topic appears without the stylesheet applies. It looks really odd and makes testing difficult.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Are you applying a master style sheet at master level rather than assigning a sheet to each topic? Your problem would occur in this case when you follow links as the preview does not know which stylesheet to use. Do the individual topics look find if you preview them directly?

Hi there,

I am applyig a master stylesheet to the entire project. The topic looks fine if I just preview it - it has the style sheet applied correctly. In this case we are only talking abot one topic with links to other points in the same topic. T
The initial preview looks correct. When I click a link (that takes me to another point in the same topic), the topic appears at the correct point however the stylesheet is not applied anymore.

is this any way in a merged webhelp or merged CHM targets.

This can happene when you have two/more similarly named topics with the same name but in different merged targets, i cannot be hundred percent on this, if i remember correctly.

Paula, I'm afraid this is a "feature" of Flare. When you preview a help topic, Flare uses the default medium of the applicable stylesheet. (Note that this may not be the medium you are using in the XML Editor - but that's another "feature".) When you jump from that preview to another topic, Flare displays it correctly if that topic contains a direct reference to the stylesheet, but not if you are using a master stylesheet applied at the target level.

If you, like me, think this behaviour is annoying, I'd suggest you put in a feature request.
