Adding a Language to the Language Skins Dialog Box

Post by Ken S »

We need to translate Help into a language not listed in the Language Skins dialog box. I've stumbled upon a way to add a language to the dialog box and then create a custom language skin for it but wanted to verify that this is the best way to do this and there are no potential pitfalls:

1. In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V6\Flare.app\Resources\Xml.
2. Open the LanguageSkins.xml file in a text editor.
3. Add a LanguageCode element for the language.
4. Save and close the file.
5. Open Flare and select Tools > Manage Language Skins. The new language will appear in the list of supported languages.
6. Create a custom language skin for the new language as described in Flare’s Help.
