I haven't needed to do this yet in Flare, but you never know.

Re: Decision Tree diagrams
This is not something I would even TRY to do in Flare. When I need decision trees, I create them in Photoshop, save them as graphics, then insert the graphics as needed.
Though if it CAN be done in Flare, I'm more than willing to learn how!

Suppose one has standard MS Office. No Photoshop. What then?

Re: Decision Tree diagrams
No need to figure out how to get Flare to do this. Just use Capture.
You could have a small image -- even just a small blank empty image -- saved as a .bmp or .png or .gif. This image is the "canvas" on which to add arrows, draw objects, and add text boxes with Capture.
Because Capture is tightly integrated with Flare, you could use conditional tags and variables from a Flare project. Plus, the contents of the text boxes could be localized if needed.
Just an idea!

Re: Decision Tree diagrams
Good idea. Is there anything like a Capture for Idiots?
I'm no idiot, but I feel like one at the moment.

Re: Decision Tree diagrams
Download OpenOffice and use Draw or Impress. If you need a top notch image editor get The GIMP. All of that is FOSS. I don't get why people spend money on commodity software like this.

Nothing out there like Capture for Dummies that I know of. Mostly seems like it's a "school of hard knocks" type of learning.ccardimon wrote:Good idea. Is there anything like a Capture for Idiots?

That said, the UI is not too difficult for what you would need (except arrows...those little buggers never seem to behave like I think they will). You can trivially create text boxes, style them, etc.

Re: Decision Tree diagrams
Create a table and use toggle switches. This table might have taken me 5 minutes to make (and I am sure it shows). Basically, the user clicks Monday - Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, and the applicable holiday options are displayed (technically M-F and Sat can have the same NatHoliday toggle but I didn't notice that until I was done). Then the user clicks the holiday status to display the entrance to use. Obviously creating styles and getting this table to look like the final example might take a little longer, but it is doable in Flare, just depends on how much time you have on your hands.ccardimon wrote:How does Flare handle Decision Tree diagrams? Personally, I would create an image, because it would take less time to create in the long run, however, if you made it in paint or snagit, having to edit it might be a pain.
tldr: try a toggle, it won't mind
