Has anyone else had issues linking to external chm files that were not created with Flare?
I have a project with two links (in the main TOC) to external chm files. One external chm was created with Flare, and one was created with RoboHelp for FrameMaker (long story).
When I compile my main project, the first .chm displays as it should in the main TOC, but the second link is just, well, dead. Nothing happens when I click it, not even an error.
In addition to including all chm files in the output folder, I have also included the offending chm in the Resources\CHMSupport folder, which is what the help suggested. Any ideas appreciated, as I have run out...

Re: Dead link to external chm
Are you including the HHC name in your TOC link? With Flare created CHM files, it knows to look for _Temp.hhc. But with other help files, the TOC will most likely be called something different and Flare won't know how to find it. So your link needs to be:
../abc.chm#xyz.hhc

../abc.chm#xyz.hhc

Yes, of course that makes sense...and I thought I had tried everything. I had actually worked around the problem, but I just tried what you suggested and it worked perfectly. Thank you, Greg!
