100% CPU usage on Saving a topic

I'm getting almost 100% CPU usage for about 35 seconds whenever I Save a topic after editing.
Has anyone else come across this delay? (As if some other process is triggered by doing so...)

Could be scanning the topics for the analysis database. See if this helps: in Tools > Options > Analyzer, enable the "Disable Collecting Phrases" check box.

This got me once, too. How large is your topic?

My topic, before I split it up, was larger than Flare prefers topics to be.

First, make sure your default view is the Web view and not the Print view.

Second, if your topic is large, split it up into smaller topics.

The other things that can slow performance include over zealous settings on anti-virus software and working over a network (such as writing to a server).
