Internal error URI format not supported

Post by rg12 »

I am getting this message when I try to output to Word document. I have searched help and this forum and have found nothing about it. What does this mean?

That sounds like it's saying there's a reference link pointing to a location that can't be resolved by your system. Does that error stop you from building or are you able to build the output? Does the error message mention a specific topic? If it isn't stopping the build, then the build status messages probably indicate the file where the build stopped.

It's happening to me also, and it stops the build.

I just made some changes in my settings and it's working now. I'm not sure which ones affected it. I'm going back through what I did to see if I can pinpoint it and will let you know.

(edit 3:33 pm) OK, the reason it worked is because I changed the Master TOC in the target and was building from a different set of topics. I put it back the way it was and watched the build process and I could see which topic triggered the error. I could see where it stopped and I deleted that topic out of the TOC and tried to build again. This time it went past that point, but a different topic triggered a different error. I am going to continue in this way to find the offending topics and go through them to fix the references. These particular documents were all created from html documents I imported from the existing (non flare) help files and I haven't yet gone through them. They work ok with the Webhelp target, but not with the Word target.
