I've got my PDF index mostly looking the way I want, but I just noticed this weirdness. There's a line at the top of the index (not on the Page Layout) that shifts depending on what appears below it.
For example:
When the IndexHeading appears immediately below the funny little line, the line is closer to the text, resulting in a nauseating feeling of discordance.
For example:
I've searched high and low for the settings for this little line. It's not on the Page Layout and not in the stylesheet (as far as I can tell).
Any ideas for me?
Thanks,
Hanna

Re: Weird line in PDF index
I've seen this before, too. It's buried in the stylesheet in the MadCap | indexProxy style, which controls the formatting of the output index proxy, which I assume you've got in your index topic.
I've gotten rid of this line by explicitly setting the top border style to "none." That line is getting inherited from someplace (sorry, but I don't know), so the workaround is to override it by setting it to "none." Here's how it looks in my print style sheet. (My best practice is to have separate print and online style sheets, rather than to use mediums.)
MadCap|indexProxy
{
border-top-style: none;
}

Re: Weird line in PDF index
FYI... It comes from the Madcap.css file that's added at the time the project is built and Flare adds that stylesheet reference automatically, so the only way to control or get rid of the line is to do what you did by overriding the style by adding it to the main topic stylesheet.Nita Beck wrote:That line is getting inherited from someplace (sorry, but I don't know), so the workaround is to override it by setting it to "none."
