I'm making an effort to clean up the output received by the SCM department when they do the help builds.
They use a script to do the builds and get errors I do not see when I do my builds using the Flare UI.
1.) They receive numerous:
Compiler: Generating alias file: Missing topic: /Content/dir name/file name.htm
-These were topics from more than a year ago. I cannot find references to them in any files.
-Is there a way to get rid of them?
2.) We had another style sheet at one time. I have gone into the .html files and removed these references except for one and I still have one reference:
CSS: Missing linked stylesheet file:///C:/Working_copies/OnlineHelp_merge/build/CIE/madcap/Content/Resources/Stylesheets/Copy of Styles comic.css
-In all of the other cases, I was able to go into the topic being "processed" and remove the reference.
-The reference is not in the last file being processed. I have searched at the madcap directory level and cannot find the word "comic" in any files.

Re: generating alias file - missing topics
I can help with the first ...
This topic has some more info on alias files: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =13&t=7890
This error happens when a topic has been deleted but the corresponding entry in the alias file has not been removed. This is a known problem with Flare. You have to manually remove the entry from the alias file (Project Explorer, Advanced Folder, and right-click the alias file and edit using the internal text editor).mitches wrote: 1.) For this one, I'd search in the source code, and look into the targets as well, in case it is set as a master style sheet somewhere.2.) ...

Re: generating alias file - missing topics
Thanks. I found the "missing" alias references.
