What does this mean and how do I fix it? I am unable to generate PDF or WebHelp for any projects as of this morning.
I am also getting this error message: "Internal error: Access to the path 'C:\ZYZ' is denied"
Any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Flare Error: "The directory is not empty"
Usually it means that you do not have permissions to that folder. I'm assuming that you've built to that folder before, and always had proper permissions before, so this is a new issue, right?
Sometimes file / directory permissions get a bit scrambled (frequently this happens when a program does not properly relinquish a lock on a file). You can sometimes fix it by rebooting...at least, that's the first thing I typically try (assuming there is not some other program already using the file I want). Hate to give such a general suggestion, but it's worth a shot.

I HAD permissions. I could generate yesterday. Then our corporate antivirus updated. Now everything is haywire.

Re: Flare Error: "The directory is not empty" -- RESOLVED
I was not the only person having problems here this morning. When our corporate antivirus updated, lots of applications broke. Our IT guys went around, asking us to uninstall the offending AV. I just tried Flare and it functions again as normal. Whew!

Re: Flare Error: "The directory is not empty"
Just started getting this error today, only when trying to build chm targets and only for certain projects.
I have tried restarting the PC to no effect. It also doesn't appear to be a permissions issue as I have been able to build some chm targets to the same (top level) folder.
Also tried to build locally to the C drive but no luck there.
Any other ideas that I can try??
Have a release deadline coming up.

Re: Flare Error: "The directory is not empty"
To follow up, copying the affected projects from the network drive to my PC has provided a work around that allowed me to compile.
Seems to be something to do with Flare not being about to process/delete the output folders before building.

Re: Flare Error: "The directory is not empty"
Ensure that antivirus checking is disabled in the/Output folder. Flare creates lots of temporary topic files while building your output, then shortly afterwards, tries to open and update them, I guess to resolve references etc.
Most good AV checkers will detect these newly created files, and start virus-checking them. Sooner or later, Flare will try to update a newly-created file that has been temporarily locked for AV checking. That can cause intermittent errors of the type you are seeing.
