I use headers and index tags, but sometimes the most important article about a certain topic drops way down low on WebHelp's search results.
For example, an article that happens to use the search term a LOT appears higher.
Can someone summarize all the different priority tools for making sure a help topic gets higher on a search result?
*Include the term in h1/h2 tags
*Include an index term for the search term
*?
*?
Thanks,
d

Good link, thanks!
Maybe someone can help translate a little?
"* Results are ranked, based on what style the search term is using, and the frequency of the term occuring.
* More weight is given to Topic title, then Heading 1 to Heading 6 styles and then body tags."
I'm not sure what is meant by "what style the search term is using". Does that mean I can apply a style of some kind to items in my text that will cause the enclosing article to rank higher on a search result? Is there a style in the stylesheet for that already?

I'd assume it's referring to the heading styles (h1-h6). I'm not aware of any other tags that effect the search results.beagley wrote:I'm not sure what is meant by "what style the search term is using". Also, another forum user posted a few findings, which might be of interest too.
