Global Project Linking: Importing Translated Graphics Files

Post by techwriter31 »

If I use global project linking to import translated content into our English project (to generate a multi-language PDF), what is the best way to handle translated graphics?

In our QSGs, we have several graphics that include translated text and several that do not. For the graphics that do not require translation, we can reference the single graphic for all languages. The problem is that I must store this untranslated graphic in each language’s project so that it can be referenced from the original translated topic. When I import the translated content into the English project, I currently use conditional tags to exclude files that are not tagged for the QSG output. I’m assuming I’ll want to conditionally tag the graphics as well - unfortunately creating a “.props” file for each graphic. :?

Any suggestions?
