I hope someone can guide me throught this...
I'm using Rel. 4.2 and want to import 4 topics from Project 1 into Project 2.
To do so, I added a condition tag to the 4 topics in Project 1.
I created a "flimpfl" file in Project 2, through Project Import Editor, linking to Project 1
For Import Conditions, I only "included" the condition tag that was placed on the 4 files and "excluded" all other condition tags.
I checked the "Auto-Exclude Non-Tagged Files" box, clicked Import....no files were imported.
If I uncheck the "Auto-Exclude Non-Tagged Files" box and then import...I import all the files in Project 1 which defeats the purpose of using condition tags.
Can anybody set me straight?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Global Linking Selected Topics
Did you specify any file types for the Include Files or Exclude Files fields? (I'm assuming so, but just wanted to check.)
Also, check out this Flare topic for a list of global importing rules. It's for Flare 6, but might help to determine which of the fields takes precedence.

Re: Global Linking Selected Topics
Thanks for the reply.
For include files, I chose all file types. I did not choose any file type exclusions as my intention was to select only the topics that were set with a specific condition tag. For the files I wanted to import, I wanted to have all files types associated with them.
The problem seems to be associated with the "Auto-Exclude Non-Tagged Files" box. If checked, I believe that I should only import the condition tagged files; however I don't import anything. If I uncheck the "Auto-Exclude Non-Tagged Files" box I get an Accept Imported Documents box with a large number of files.
I could uncheck all of those files and then only check the files I want, but would prefer to use the condition tags alone to manage Global Linking.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a problem in 4.2.

Re: Global Linking Selected Topics
Yeah, it sounds like it could be a bug.
Maybe post a screenshot of your import settings, your conditional tag settings for the Import Conditions and the Accept Imported Documents dialog when the Auto-Exclude checkbox is checked and unchecked?
Just to verify - your content is conditionally tagged at the file level, correct?
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Actually, you were very helpful and pointed me just where I needed to go when you asked about conditionalizing at the file level.
That got me thinking. I set the conditions at the file level, but did so from the Master TOC. When I read your reply, I went back to the document and realized that I needed to conditionalize the file from the Content Explorer.
I tested the import again and everything worked as advertised.
Many thanks for reading and responding to my post, and for helping me out.
