Is it possible to import or create a new effect?

Post by homerchristensen »

OK... I made a command decision to switch our writers from SnagIt to Capture based on the hype of how it integrated with Flare... before I checked everything out with due diligence. Other team members snagged our SnagIt licenses, so we can't go back without humilations galore and a (small) budget request.

Our problem is that we have used the smooth (sin) wave from SnagIt that provides a graceful indicator that what the viewer sees is a part of something larger.
Capture's wave is pretty durn homely, at least in what I've been able to play with. I can't use this and stay within our approved style guide.

Are there other edge effects one can import or create? Any options for us?

I have not seen or heard any way to get additional edge effects.

I use both snaggit and capture, often on the same image. I love most things about capture, it retains the original image (so you can chnge the way it's cropped), you can edit the callouts at a later date, and so on. But the edge effects are crap, and once I've finished editing I'll open the final image in snagit for the final touch (torn edges).

Please add a feature request/ bug report here: https://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx. The number of requests must be getting loud enough for Madcap to take notice...
