We are currently using a trial version of Madcap.
I have 3-4 separate Help Systems...one large one containing two books and then we also merge in 2-3 other Help Systems. We want our Help Desk to be able to have an overall view of all systems.
We imported the larger project and everything is fine. We tried to merge the other 2 to 3 projects and they will display, but they contain all the contents of the book below them on the TOC.
We need a little bit of guidance on where to look in the Help (we have been using the Merged Help).
This step is crucial to our decision on purchasing this software.

Re: Merging Multiple Help Systems
So you are merging help systems and the TOC for the master project is not appearing as you want, and you want more info from the Flare help? Hopefully the following info is of use.
There are a few different methods of merging help systems using Flare.
There is a Flare help topic "Merging Projects" which explains different methods that use the TOC to link in other projects. Using these methods you have little control over how the final TOC will look (the TOC entry that you add for the child project/help system will automatically show the TOC for the child help system, you must change the TOC in the child project if you want it displaying differently in the master project).
The other method you can use is called global project linking. See the Flare help topic "Global Project Linking—Importing Files from Other Projects". Because this method imports the actual content files (topics) into your project, you can define the TOC manually however you want. This is more flexible, but has more overheads.
Hope this helps
