How to remove the profile in a Capture screenshot

Post by Patt »

I'm fairly new to Capture and I like many of its features but one thing that has me stymied is how to paste one screen shot into another but remove the profile from the first screen shot.
I've set up a profile to put a border around each screen shot.
I want to take one shot and add it to another.
I click the Detach Profile from Current Image icon, save the screen shot, copy and paste it into my other screen shot.
But the border still appears around the pasted-in image.
There must be a way to do this, I'm just haven't figured it out.

Any suggestions?
Cheers,

Patt,
Think of 'Profiles" as a one way street. They apply settings to images and those settings stick. Its a quick way to alter images as they are captured.
Removing a profile from an image by detaching it does not remove the settings or styles that were applied to that image when it was captured or when the profile was applied.

What you can do is use a different profile to apply new changes to images.
Create a new profile called 'Noborder" and set the border on that profile to (no border).
Now you can Apply the the 'Noborder" to the image and it will remove the border from the image.
Then copy / paste into the other image.
You can then re-apply the border profile back if needed.

If this seems like a bunch of unneeded work, you can open up the image properties and set the border to (no border), copy / paste it, and then set it back with Undo.
