I am trying to format an index so that it has two columns, but when I do, the title (H1) is in a column as well; it should straddle both columns. I double-clicked the Index proxy on the index page and selected 2 columns. I created a separate page layout with two columns.
I tried putting the title in a separate one-column body frame on the layout, but then it no longer appeared on the bookmark panel in the PDF.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
Mardi

Check out this post: index, 2 columns, top-of-the-columns issue
My index is set up as you describe, and I can help more if you can't work it out. Good luck.
