I'd like to use Flare as a single-source tool for creating books that are to be printed by a print-on-demand (POD) service bureau. The service requires that PDFs have a PDF/X-1a:2001 preset that is generated from Distiller as the PDF Producer.
Does anyone know which standard Distiller setting Flare uses to generate PDFs?
Is there a way to feed Flare's output into Distiller, so the Distiller settings can govern the PDF output and post the file with Distiller as the PDF Producer? Ideally, it would be great to save Flare's PDF output as a Postscript (.ps) file that I could run through Distiller.
My Acrobat chops are bit limited. So there may be some simple workaround I haven't figured out yet. Any ideas?
Thanks,
-John
Can you use Distiller to generate Flare's PDF output?

OK, wouldn't you know it, withing seconds of posting, the answer came to me.
For those who care:
1. Export from Flare as PDF.
2. In Acrobat, saved Flare's PDF output as a Postscript (.ps) file.
3. In Distiller, process the .ps file to the desired settings.
Not so hard. Now to get three hours of my life back...
