Moving Project Breaks snippet & image links

HI there,

I moved a project file (and it's entire folder structure) from one place on my C drive to another. Now all my images and snippets are "missing". They are all there in my folders under "Resources/Snippets" and \"Resources/Images" but Flare is balking and saying that they are not part of the project. I'm having to go through each topic and manually update the links (even though I'm just setting them to the same link as they currently are).

Is there anything I can do to fix this other than manually go through and fix each one by hand?

Many thanks!
Paula

If you look in the topics themselves, are the images and snippets linked via an absolute path, or a relative path? (Absolute path would be C:\<path to project>\Resources\etc, where relative path would be something like ..\Resources\Images\blah.png.)

From time to time, I've run across this issue, where I move files from one project to another, and for some weird reason Flare assigns them an absolute path that leads back to the old project. I can't reliably duplicate, so I haven't been able to report it.

If this is the case (that the paths are absolute instead of relative), you can do a project-wide Find and Replace in code. Just find the "C:\<path to old project>" stuff and replace it with nothing (or, possibly, with two periods: .. -- depending on how your project folders are organized), and that should do the trick.

Thanks Kevin that's much appreciated. I am quite certain my links are relative.

They look like this: "img src="../Resources/Images/participation_report_summarystats.png"
So the path to the project isn't actually in them. However, I'll play around and see what I can do.

Thanks!

I've had this happen sometimes and have concluded that it's related to the Analzyer folder.

With the project closed, delete the Analyzer folder. When you restart Flare, it'll rebuild that folder. Does that help?

If not, if you haven't put too much effort into editing the moved project, do you have a backup of it that you can return to? For that backup project, delete the Analyzer folder before you do anything else, and then open up the project. Do the links work now?

Last resort is the fix you've already been given, to edit the paths in the code.
