"Invalid display: inherit"

I have this really long topic that I think I've messed up somehow: I created several new styles based on an existing style, then I tried deleting these newly created styles later. But they still appear in my master stylesheet; further attempts to remove them generate a message saying that the style cannot be deleted because it is inherited. Now my topic is spitting out this message when I try to apply a style to some of my paragraphs:

"D:\my_project\help\topic_file_name.htm: CSS: Invalid display: inherit"

It will display this 5 or 6 times or more.

What does this mean?

Most likely you created the styles in the print medium or another medium and you're trying to delete them from the default medium. You need to switch to the print or other medium and delete the styles there.
