Skins as part of Templates

Post by Carsten Pedersen »

We are using the templates more and more. This means that general stylesheets, topics etc. are placed in the templates.
This works fine. Now we wanted to put Skins in the template as well. However the Caption of the output window is a part of the skin.
If we leave the Caption blank, we just get the name of the default Target type "HTML Help" and so on.
My question is: "What part of the project is the main project"? We have treated the Targets as the most important, and we have made special Targets for every project, meaning that the Targets are not part of any template, but is local to all projects. However since the Caption is included in the Skin, we cannot add the Skins to the template, since they need to have different Captions for every project.

Can I specify a global Caption to a project, or can I use variables in the skin Caption?

I haven't tried to use variables in a caption, but I doubt it would work. There's no project-wide caption I'm aware of.

I think this is a good candidate for a feature request -- I'll submit one too, as I've run into this issue when using Global Project Linking. Specifically, I think the caption should be target-level.
