Glossary Help

Post by alaltenburg »

Hello all,
Can anyone give me an idea of an easy way to create a glossary to look like this? Thank you.

make another TOC or browse sequence with every topic as a different definition. (that wouldn't include the A, B, C, D, etc at the top though. maybe put those links in the masterpage in a heading?)

i have also done something similar to this using javascript on a website, but i'm not sure how this would translate over to flare. (list on one side, changing text on the other side)

**this is an "easy way" to copy that screenshot, not necessarily the best way or the most productive use of flare.

I am trying to figure a way that still allows me to use the Glossary Proxy, as this is a full glossary that is imported from each of the separate chapters. I am hoping that when a chapter glossary term is added, the full glossary would update to reflect those changes.

HTML Help.

The boss wants an alphabet list across the top and then as each term is clicked, he wants a stationary popup. It does not seem done easy or with the proxy.

sorry, i don't know html help except that it is very limited.

here is a topic about putting the letters at the top of the page - http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... &sk=t&sd=a - it's not really possible

what else would you have on the page if you want the definition to just be a popup? you could just make a list of all the terms and set the glossary definitions to be popups, but that wouldn't update automatically. i don't think you can edit a glossary proxy.
