I have set the properties for my thumbnails as "link," which according to the Flare help should open the image in a new window. My image is instead opening within the same frame, replacing the topic, and clicking it does not close it.
How do I get it to open in a new window as it is supposed to do?
Thanks.

Popup is the option you want to select to have it open in a popup window over the help.

Re: Thumbnails not behaving as expected
Yes, but my images are too large and need a scroll bar, which popup doesn't provide; reducing the size isn't an option. So I need for it to open in its own window.
Re: Thumbnails not behaving as expected
After building the output, open the topic in the browser's source code view and see what tag and class if tag is used for the popup. If you can determine that, you might be able to set an option to enable scrolling via the stylesheet. Unfortunately, I can't test it at the moment. I seem to recall from a previous test that the scrolling was turned off inline, but I didn't play with any of the styles to see if it could be turned back on.
If you can't turn on scrolling then you might have to use a custom JavaScript option instead of using Flare's built-in thumbnail option.

I think that's a bug.
Flare's help says that the link option will open the image in a new window, but it doesn't.

Yes, what Dave said. That is my problem.
I can't see any way to turn on scrolling in the stylesheet (that could be my lack of knowledge), and I have no idea how to create a custom Java whatchamacallit. I'm pretty low-level.
I may just be screwed.

Or poor documenting in the help. It could be it's doing exactly what it's designed to do and the help author misunderstood. Opening a new window, to me, is still a popup but with more controls. I think a better solution would be to give you control over the appearance of the popup effect for that thumbnail to be able to specify if scrollbars should appear or not, or if just the vertical scrollbar should appear, etc. The link option, IMHO, should do what it's doing now -- show the image in the same pane.Dave Lee wrote:I think that's a bug.

Re: Thumbnails not behaving as expected
Is there anyway to customize this function? I think a magnifier icon and close icon in the corner of a border like a lightbox is a great option for user experience. Anyone do this?
Re: Thumbnails not behaving as expected
Only 6 years old this thread. Anyone found a solution in the meantime?
I assume mine is the same problem as the OP's. I set mc-thumbnail to "popup", and when I click on an image it opens in a new something, but that something remains at the width of the host window and changes size when you resize the window. I have a fixed width (and narrow) window so this completely defeats the purpose of the setting, I need it to pop out full size.
