Where did the table row numbers go?

I have just today downloaded and started using Flare 7.

In Flare 6 (latest rev, and those leading up to it), working in the XML Editor, I could click on a table, and it would display a row-framework to the immediate left of the table that was delineated by lines and a box labeled “auto” and an orange rectangular box to the immediate right of the table with the label “table” (see image).

Flare 7 does not display this when the table is clicked on. The table structure bar is displayed on the far left against the left window margin.

Is there an option or parameter that controls the display and would return the Flare 6 numbered row framework? Or one that will number the rows on the structure bar?

RANT! How in Clapton's name does one attach an image to a forum message? I tried doing the image thing with no positive result. then I tried an attachment, but it wouldn't allow a .doc or .docx extension.
And why in the H**l do I have to keep logging in and losing my text?

To attach an image to a post on the forum:

1. Click the upload attachment tab below the window where you are creating your post/ reply.
2. Add the file path and filename (or use the browse button yo find and add the filespec automatically).
3. Click the Add the file button to upload it to the server.
4. Set the cursor to the point in the post where you want to add the image.
5. Click the Place inline button.

OK, that helps to understand about an image.

So, is an "attachment" in the forum is an image file, and not truely any file. The forum does not support 'attachments' as we know them throughout the web? I got the issue when I tried to attach a .doc and .docx. It said they were illegal file extensions.

And your answer brings up another question: where did you get this information, and how can I get information to use the forum correctly. it is a great communication tool, but appears to be quite hamstrung as far as functionality unless one is "in the know" and not an outsider. Where is the "Help" content for using the forum?

Tks for your response,

THANK YOU LAURA!!

Although the answer to my question(s) are not explicitly there, I was able to use the FAQ to go to the phpBB website (the controllers of the forum application. From there I found the documentation. It is here http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/3.0/ if anyone is looking for some help in understanding how to use the forum editor and the related tools.

The document indicates that the allowed attachment extensions are controled by the phpBB implimenting administrator. I was able to discover that if you click on the Members link in the gray area under the madcap header in the forum, the first member listed is the MadcapAdmin. I shall address my concerns to the MadcapAdmin concerning how we should learn how to use the Forum editor effectively.

If successful, maybe we will get some kind of help outta this. (The FAQ cops out alot and says to "contact administrator" instead of giving an answer).

If not, I will report back in some fashion so that we all can be better forum users.

Oh BTW, does anyone know the answer to my core question: Where did the table row numbers go in Flare 7?

Thank you to all that have taken the time to help me.

It looks like they made the table blocks more consistent with how the rest of the blocks behave. Instead of the table on the right, it's on the left, and the tbody, tr, td, etc., are children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren of that tag. The "auto"/width values are along the top and also show a parent/child relationship.

Hi, all.

In past versions I've really taken advantage of table manipulation/editing, selecting a table and right-clicking to edit/manipulate the table columns mostly. In the main table menu, in past revs, "Show Columns" had to be on to allow this (for me at least) feature to work.

Now, apparently in Flare 7, this capability has gone away; at least I've yet to find the means to turn it back on. This earlier post was initially posing this question but bloody digressed, petering out to not getting the first query really settled.

In the meanwhile, I'm back using ver 6.1, as also (dare I digress:-), graphics were vanishing from topics as I selected them to Preview.

Thanks for any help here, in advance.

When you click on a in the workspace table, at the top of the workspace there are table and col icons that are used to manipulate the table objects. If I understand your question correctly, these are what you are looking for. Right click on them and you get a sub-menu of tools to manipulate the table and columns.

I finally found 'em; mine are on the bloody bottom of the window, hiding in plain sight. Silly me; don't ask me why, but at least we're using ver 7 again over here. When I'm done, I guess I'll retest the Preview function; for some reason a whole recursive branch of .htms lost their graphics when previewed (but the pics are indeed there, as viewed in either editor). It might call for a different forum topic post...

Thanks & cheers,
