Re-sizing movies within a project

Post by todd.richardson »

Hello,

I have a Mimic project that contains two movies. The first movie, containing my introduction, is 668x553. The second movie, a recording of an application window, is the size of the window (352x441). I would like both movies to be one size (668x553). I tried re-sizing the second movie to make it the same size as the first, but this stretched the image files in the frames. Is there a way to set a consistent frame size throughout and project without stretching the frame content?

Thanks.

I'd create a background image the size of the first movie and then paste the frames of the second movie on top of that background. The easiest is probably to do that external to Mimic.

This question came up a few times in the past and it seems as if adding a feature to Mimic might help. I think it would be helpful to have an option to resize frames by filling in the background with a solid color, solid color with watermark, or a background image that gets tiled or stretched. I'll put in a suggestion.

Thanks Ramon.

I tried creating a background image at the size I need, then inserting the new background into the Mimic project. However, it is not positioned (anchored) properly in the output window, and there doesn't seem to be any way to reposition it.

It would be great if Mimic supported Frame layers. That way, you could conceivably have a background layer, a layer for the image of interest (dialog, etc.) and yet another layer for your objects. I'll submit an enhancement for this.
