Capturing drag and drop action in a movie

Post by kmrountree »

Hello,

I am having trouble capturing drag and drop activity in a movie - when I record a movie and, for example, drag an object into a directory, that action doesn't appear in the movie. You can see the cursor moving from point A to Point B, but the actual object it is moving does not appear - in other words, you cannot see the object being dragged and dropped, only the cursor. Is it possible to make this happen?

Thanks in advance.

I'd try hitting the PrintScreen key dozens of times to get extra frames inserted. That should capture what you see on screen. Any frame you do not need can be easily discarded later.

Thanks, Ramon S. I already tried this, though, and a) even though I clicked PrintScreen at least a dozen times, only 3 or 4 of the shots were added to the movie, and b) the cursor did not appear in the new Frames as it did in the application as I did the drag and drop. Is there any configuration I need to set up before recording the new frames?

I wouldn't try that.

You should be able to record these sort of sequences as 'full-motion-video' . In the recording options, if you set the Recording mode to Automatic, then it should record drag-and-drop actions as video automatically.

If it's not doing it automatically, the shortcut key to start/stop video mode is Shift + Print Scrn.

There's info in the help:

Dave -you are right. Forgot about the full motion option. That will indeed be better.
