hello,
in my project I use a snippet to popup clicking a certain word in a topic.
doing so the snippet is shown in its xml format, see example below:
----------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <html xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" MadCap:lastBlockDepth="2" MadCap:lastHeight="66" MadCap:lastWidth="1422">
- <body>
<p>Text1</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Text2</p>
</body>
</html>
----------
instead of only Text1 and Text2
where do I set this right?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you saying after inserting a snippet you want to be able to break its link to the snippet file so you can edit its contents? If so, right-click on the inserted snippet and select Convert to text.
Or are you asking something else?
Or are you asking something else?

Re: Popup a snippet shows xml code
Do you mean you've created a topic popup link to a snippet file ?
You can't have popups/links directly to snippet files, you need to insert the snippet in a topic, and create the popup/link to the topic.

Thanx for all the reply.
I think Dave understands my question. Yes, I defined a snippet which I used as a popup in a topic.
So this is not possible.
What I want to do was:
use texts for popups but the texts may not be part of the total Help file.
Does anybody know a way to handle??
SORRY, I ALREADY FIND THE ANSWER MYSELF.
Simply do not add the topics to the TOC.

TOC? Are you producing "print output" (e.g. PDF)? Because in any other case the content of the TOC hasn't got anything to with the volume of the help - you can always find all topics via the Search.
If you're not producing print output but some sort of online help, you can build two targets: One for the popups, one for the rest. To implement that you need conditions or SourceControl software.
