FireFox 4 Support

Post by Alicia143 »

My webhelp files will not load correctly in the FireFox 4 browser. The developer that I am working with thinks this is due to the utf-8 encoding.

Here is an example of the extra characters that are appearing: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">. The UTF-8 representation of the BOM is the byte sequence 0xEF,0xBB,0xBF, which appears as the ISO-8859-1 characters in most text editors and web browsers not prepared to handle UTF-8.

I found this information about UTF-8 on wikipedia, but I still don't know how to fix the issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Will there be an update to Flare 7 to support FireFox 4?

Thank you!

This has cropped up quite a few times in the forums; I think one of the MVPs has a script that fixes the issue, see here:
