The applications from which our users access our webhelp system require user authentication, however, when they click on Help a new window opens and the webhelp URL is completely separate and accessible to anyone. Our IT director would like to require authentication for the webhelp system so that we can connect its usage to the users in the system. (We use Feedback Server, but authentication there is also separate from our User Management system.) He wanted me to find out if webhelp can be set up to require user authentication. I'm not sure how to ask the question correctly but, I think what we ultimately want to do is have it connected to the user authentication we already have in place for the app from which they access the webhelp system.
So the 2 questions are:
- Can webhelp be set up to require user authentication?
- Can it somehow be connected to the user authentication we already have in place for the app from which they access the webhelp system so that we can track its usage based on that?
I guess a 3rd question is whether or not Feedback can use our User Management database for authentication too, instead of having users register within Feedback.
Thanks!

User authentication
Re: User authentication
WebHelp doesn't have built-in authentication for users. If you want authentication, you'd have to implement it via the web server on which the help is hosted.
