variables in index

Hello.

I wish to add a variable to my index.

I am generating the same output which needs to be branded for two different companies and one company calls a component of the product "ComponentX" and one company calls it "ComponentY". This is easily achieved in the actual text - especially since I learned that targets can overwrite individual variables - thanks to someone in this forum!!! However, the index is more tricky...

For some outputs/targets I want the index to contain "ComponentX" and in another output/target I want the index to contain "ComponentY". I don't want to use the wrong name in the wrong target but I don't want to omit these components from the index which I think I might have to do...

Is this possible?

The solution is simple, but somewhat work-intensive. Basically, you create both keywords in your topic, and then condition each. Then exclude the keywords that don't apply in each of your targets.

Unfortunately, there's no way to use variables in index keywords, so you're stuck with conditions.
