Hi there,
I have not worked with table styles before - I've always manually edited the few tables I use.
However, a new project I'm starting will require hundreds of tables. I am considering using table stylesheets to aid with this.
However, I am used to using master stylesheets at the target level, one per target for single-sourcing. I am wondering, does using a master stylesheet negate being able to use table stylesheets in a project? And, how does a table stylesheet behave with different targets?
I ask the first question, because of this statement from the Help topic "Applying Master Style Sheets"
Note: If you apply a master style sheet at either the target or project level, you will no longer be able to associate style sheets at the topic level (unless you remove the master style sheet associations at the project and/or target level). If you have previously applied multiple style sheets to a single topic and then switch to using a master style sheet, you should make sure that all of the styles you need from the various style sheets are all included in your master style sheet.
Thanks much,
-Steph
Master stylesheet vs table stylesheet
Re: Master stylesheet vs table stylesheet
Using a master stylesheet doesn't affect any table stylesheet links.
The help text is referring to any 'normal' (non-table) stylesheet links that you have assigned in your topics; in the output, these links are discarded and substituted by a link to the master stylesheet.
