Publish to Salesforce

Post by LindaW »

I have just downloaded the trial version of MadCap Flare. I will need to publish online documentation to our Salesforce Force.com site. I haven't found any information about whether there will be any issues with this. Will I be able to create my MadCap Flare documentation and publish it to Force.com just like I would to any other website? If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Will you be creating webhelp? i don't think it is possible to upload webhelp to salesforce because you will have a bunch of files (over 100?) that all need to be in place for the help to work. if you publish to a webserver, you can just include a hyperlink in salesforce to your start page. all the flare-related webhelp files need to be stored in one place to work.
if you're just uploading PDFs of your help, that's easy enough to do in salesforce. i've done that.
in Flare, you have the option to publish to an FTP server or a file location. i don't think salesforce qualifies as either of those.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think I was very clear in my original post. We have a website that is a Force.com site. That is where I want to post my files. I did talk to our webmaster, and he set me up so that I can FTP my files to the site - so all is well. Thanks!

Are you publishing Flare-generated WebHelp to Salesforce Knowledge?

Reviewing this topic, my team is considering creating a MadCap web help target (aka knowledge base) to integrate with Saleforce.com. The goal would be to associate a MadCap topic/knowledge base article to a Saleforce.com case. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Julie

Is it possible to integrate salesforce.com and Flare topics so that Salesforce can display/retrieve a Flare topic? Instead of duplicating a Flare topic in the Salesforce knowledge base. I hear there is some very new software from Salesforce that might allow such a thing.

thanks,
Linda

Hi all

I'm also very interested in this topic. Any tips on what the salesforce path/feature to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I would also be interested if it were possible to publish PDF/docx Flare output Salesforce directly from Flare. Is this possible?
