Character spacing

One user's PDFs have more spacing btwn characters than the others in the group. When I PDF the same documents, the PDFs are fine.

What could be causing her Flare PDFs to have increased spacing? I'm not sure if this is a Flare or an Acrobat issue.

Thanks!

Not 100% sure, but I believe there are other posts that suggest this occurs if the font size on the computer where the PDF is generated has been set to something larger than the default size.

Could have sth to do with fonts and whether they're embedded in the PDF or not. Can't you specify that when building PDFs?

Thanks for the replies. We checked the font size on the computer--default.

We also checked the fonts listed in the doc properties--same as mine.

I guess the next step is to uninstall/re-install Acrobat if no other ideas come forth.

Thanks!

No, the character spacing is the same when printed. I'll double-check the suggestions provided in the link.

The info in the link didn't seem to help. Any other ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks!

I don't like to say that, but I'm afraid you should also ask that on an Adobe forum ... it might have to do sth with how Adobe handles fonts - which of course hardly anybody here knows ... fonts are always an issue on Adobe forums and mailing lists.

E.g. for those "Adobe" purposes I am member of a mailing list - wouldn't help you, 'cos it's German ...

It turned out to be a system fonts issue. The user was missing some of the fonts that we use. She installed them and that fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help.
