Expand TOC level when it syncs

Hi all,
I've got xrefs and links all through my webhelp, the TOC sync is a nice touch, but if the link points to a parent level I would like that level to expand as well to show the sub-topics. Can this be done? I cant find a setting for it anywhere, just a standard TOC sync.

I think the only way to do this is to make the top level "book" not linked and move the topic with the parent-level content inside the book.
