Hi
I am producing a PDF.
Most of the topics use a single-column page layout, with "end on left page" disabled, so that new sections can start on either left or right hand pages.
I have a problem with one section that needs to use a two-column layout. It just so happens that the way the manual works, it starts on a right-hand page, so that's not the problem (well not in the English version...) but it finishes on a right-hand page, and I want the next section, which uses the normal single-column layout, to start on the very next page.
I wouldn't mind quite so much if it just forced its way onto an odd-numbered, right-hand page, but instead of that, I have a single-column page that has an even number, but uses the right-hand page layout.
I'm sure this is a case of PIBCAK (Problem Is Between Chair And Keyboard) so what have I forgotten to do, and what can I do to fix this?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Change of page layout, can't get next section on LEFT page
do you have the TOC item properties set correctly for those sections? make sure you pick the appropriate page layout (two column) and set the "end of left page" to disabled, and make sure the following section has continued numbering.
do you have any extra spaces/styles at the end of the 2 page layout section that would cause a blank page to display after it?

Re: Change of page layout, can't get next section on LEFT page
To describe the problem more fully, imagine I have three topics.
Topic 1: Single column, default page layout. Auto-end on left page: disabled. Topic just happens to end on a left-hand page. 4 pages, 1 - 4 in final PDF.
Topic 2: 2-column. Start a new chapter document checked. Auto-end on left page: disabled. Topic is 7 pages long, pages 5 - 11 in final PDF. Last page is left-hand page.
Topic 3: Single column, start a new chapter document checked. First page is numbered as 12, but it uses a right-hand page layout not left-hand.
Bodge to fix - in Topic 3, before the first heading, insert a blank paragraph and insert a page break before the first "real" paragraph. On Page numbering in the Properties of the topic, set it to start with the same number as the last page of Topic 2. That then creates a PDF that has two page 11, one of which is the last page of Topic 2, the other is the dummy page that was inserted at the beginning of Topic 3. In Acrobat Pro I delete the spare page.
Ugly, but it got me out of a hole. Though obviously I'd rather not have to mess about like that, particularly as this document goes to translation and page counts change.
