When I use the <li> tag to created a bulleted or numbered list, the baseline of the bullet/number is always higher than that of the text it accompanies, like this:
1
__First thing
2
__Second thing
3
__Third thing
(OK, maybe not that dramatically higher, but still...)
I have not been able to adjust the positioning using the block's vertical-align property. Nothing changes no matter what I set it at.
I've turned up a couple of old threads where people are having this problem, but either they were trying to use a custom bullet (which I am not) or the solution was to create a custom bullet and cheat it by padding the image down. Is this still the case? It seems like a no-brainer that we should be able to make a bulleted/numbered list look, you know, normal...

where are you seeing this dramatic difference? does it show up just in the flare editor, or only in the output? what kind of output?
have you made any adjustments at all to the ol, ul, or li style properties? does this happen in a sample/new project?

Oooooh boy... do I feel like a dummy. Now that I check, I only see the problem in the Flare editor. From now on, I promise to always check the preview before I get all indignant in the forums...

sometimes the preview is also different from the output, so be sure to check the output too. yes, it is annoying that sometimes the editor, preview, and output don't match, but it's really just the output that matters.
