Ruler under heading

Post by mrmansfan »

I would like a ruler under my heading in my web-based output only. If I use a border under H1, it displays as such in my printed output as well. I want my heading style (whether H1 or H2) to have a border in my webhelp but not to have that show up in print. I have tried putting a ruler in the master page under the breadcrumbs proxy but it displays above the heading level?

You want to use a bottom border in your h1 definition in the default medium and no bottom border in the print medium. So in the Stylesheet Editor, make sure the medium is set to default, then style the bottom-border attributes for the h1 tag to get the appearance you want. Save the stylesheet. Switch the Stylesheet Editor to the print medium. Click on the h1 tag and set its bottom-border width to 0 or the border style to none (instead of solid or dashed or whatever you originally specified).

And welcome to the forums, even if you waited 2 years to make your first post.
