Spaces inserted in middle of words in PDF

Post by HiyaKath »

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and to Flare. I tried a search with no success but if somebody has already discussed this please point me to the topic.

I'm using Flare 7.2 to generate PDF documents.

What I'm finding is that in my output there are spaces in the middle of words - consistently the same words (i.e., GigE becomes G igE). However, these spaces are not in my source files. I tried changing the justification from full to left, but this did not fix the problem.

One oddity - if the spaced-out word is italicized, there is no extra space added.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,
Kath

That did help some. Thanks Laura.

The fix turned out to be simple, if strange.

I had set my Windows to display at a larger size (125%) and it was this that was causing all the weird spacing. Apparently the display settings were somehow getting embedded into the PDF output. I changed Windows back to default and the spacing disappeared.

I guess I'll just have to lobby for a larger monitor instead.

Thanks,
Kath

Push for a widescreen. A single widescreen gives you more real estate to do side-by-side screens, short of having a two monitor setup. Two widescreen monitors are definitely the best scenario, especially if you're like me and you prefer to cut-and-paste from Word to Flare, for example, instead of importing.

that's what i have too (2 widescreens). it is so nice to be able to fit all the flare windows/panels at the same time, along with any original documents i'm working with.
